The Yard

Last week, Me and my friend decided to go in Katipunan to check out The Yard. It is a newly opened foodpark in Katip located along Xaviersville Ave. It is just near CCA (Center for Culinary Arts) and Katipunan LRT Station.

Directions:
If you have a car, well and good but you know Katip traffic ain't easy even on weekends and most especially on weekdays. Ride LRT 2 going to Katipunan Station then you should go out on the side of St. Bridget school from there you can walk until you turn left on Xaviersville Ave.

We don't know the exact location of Xaviersville so we hailed a cab from Katip Station but the driver kept complaining that it is traffic and the U turn is far from where we are so he drop us below the overpass. We wasted 40 plus pesos for the fare for 2 mins sitting in the cab. When we went down the overpass we rode a trike going to The Yard but we found out it is already that near. Lesson Learned: try asking, but at least we now know it is of walking distance.

As you can see it is not yet fully done with the constructions specifically the front stores but they are already open.

Sorry for the poor photo quality I am already hungry so I ate and ate. This was the only food we ate because after this we went straight to Ababu and Amo Yamie. Need to reserve space in my stomach for that. :)
I am not sure of the exact time the foodpark opens but I think it is between 4:00 pm -4:30 pm. We were there 4pm but the food stalls are still preparing their food so we waited until they're ready by 4:30 pm. The place is packed tightly. I can say they have maximized the space so food stalls can fit.

Aside from the fact that it is hot that afternoon I was so thirsty so while waiting for the food we ordered. We bought milkshakes in Cafe Fratello. The one I ordered is death by Chocolate. Nothing special really. just a chocolate Milkshake.

MENU:

Death by Chocolate

Because of my love for seafood, I did try Prawn Star. The owner was nice too. She was the one who cooked our food. There are 3 steps when ordering:
1. Choose your seafood:
Choices:
- Prawns
- Shrimps
- Clams
- Black Mussels
- Green Mussels
- Crab Claws
- Crab (per 100g)
2. What's your flavor?
- Sexy and Hottie (Cajun)
- Hoe Eggs (Salted Egg)
- Sweet Bombshell (Sweet Chili)
- G Spot (Garlic Butter)
- CocoShaker (Gata)
- The Cougar (Lemon Pepper)
- Commando (Plain Boil)
3. Rate your hotness
- G (Non Spicy)
- PG (Mild)
- R (Medium)
- X (Hot)
- XXX ( Extra extra hot)

Menu:

Our Choice: We chose to eat the Bangbus. It is good for 2-3 pax. Our flavor was the G spot. It is Garlic Butter. The Garlic and Butter were of generous amount. I am in seafood heaven! I recommend it and do try other flavors as well. Bangbus is 490 pesos, it consists of Shrimp, Mussels, Clams and 2 pcs of corn with your choice of flavor. We didn't have it with rice as we will eat again after this.

The next food stall we tried is Fry day

MENU:

We ate Heart Attack.
I didn't finish the bacon because I don't like it. Maybe it depends on people. Its kind of bitter and there isn't much you can taste. Then the fries it is just a fries with ketchup. That's all about it. I can't recommend it based on my taste but you can try you might like it.

So far that's all we've tried but we can go back and try other food stalls. Hopefully by that time everything is already open.
